TEBA Development’s long-standing relationship with the mining industry, mineworkers (past and present) and rural communities places it in the ideal position to develop a Social and Labour Plan Support initiative.
The purpose of the initiative is to facilitate the writing and planning of Social and Labour Plans by the mining houses. The Support Plan follows a consultative approach and engages Local Government stakeholders in South Africa, the South African National Department of Minerals & Energy Social Plan directorates, the Chamber of Mines and other relevant private/public sector stakeholders.
TEBA Development has found it preferable to facilitate the process of mines writing their own plans, rather than writing the plans on their behalf. This approach facilitates implementation of the Plan and starts filtering it throughout the decision-making structures of the mine.
The future objectives of the Support Plan include assistance with strategic planning and the implementation of the Plan itself, particularly with respect to community development and the setting up of Future Forums. A strategic partnership with the Mineworkers Development Agency is currently being evaluated for the ultimate purpose of supplying a full Social and Labour Plan solution to mining companies and the industry at large.

TEBA Limited is a service organisation primarily responsible for the recruitment of mineworkers for the South African mining industry.
In addition, it carries out a vital role in ensuring the payment of various benefits (as well as savings) to workers and their families in rural areas of Southern Africa.
