Fatal Accidents Education Funds
Teba Development, in its endeavour to provide support to mining industry is administering two education funds for mining companies. The funds are Masifunde Fund on behalf of AngloGold Ashanti and President’s Tlhokomelo (Care) Fund on behalf of South Deep Mine.
The programme seeks to ensure that each employer provides financial assistance for the care of its employee’s children following the accidental death at work of an employee, by funding the children’s education at primary and secondary schooling levels.
More than 600 children benefited from both funds in 2005.
