Water and Sanitation Provision Programme

The programme provides safe and clean water as well as sanitation facilities to disadvantaged communities. Due to the impact of poor sanitation and water supply on community health, TEBA Development, in association with various partners, is undertaking a programme aimed at improving water and sanitation in rural villages and at rural schools.

Two areas of operation have been implemented: the repair of existing water distribution infrastructure and the creation of new water and sanitation infrastructure. The erection of VIP toilets, installation of rainwater tanks, digging of boreholes fitted with hand pumps and mist nets are some of the infrastructures provided to the rural communities.
Many households in the Lesotho and Mozambique have benefited from the organisation’s safe water and sanitation services. Rural schools in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa are also provided with water and sanitation services annually. Coupled to the provision of water and sanitation infrastructure is the transfer of skills to the local people to ensure that local people take over as contractors and that they can sustain the projects.
