Agriculture Programme X
The main objective of the Agricultural Programme is to enable agricultural entrepreneurs in rural areas to increase their income, thereby alleviating poverty and improving livelihoods.
We developed a number of very strong agricultural livelihood projects, which include farmer support and provision of infrastructure to improve agricultural livelihoods. In each project, an agricultural field officer is placed in a local municipality to work with emerging farmers' cooperatives. The focus is to increase economic opportunities for previously disadvantaged communities through the use of existing resources and assets (water, land and livestock) and build on existing skills and introduce new skills of participants through farmer-to-farmer learning and mentoring.
