16 April 2007: Samancor handing-over new classes
On the 12th April 2007, Samancor handed over keys of two much needed new classrooms to the Tirelong Intermediate School in Kroondal, near Rustenburg in the North West province.
The two classrooms were built at a total cost of R195,280. The building of the classes was facilitated by Teba Development. Last year two classes were also completed in the school, as phase one.
In handing over the keys to the school principal, Sunel Pretorious, Samacor human resources practioner, communications and community relations, highlighted that this was an inclusive project. “We identified the need to support the school in the area after noticing that teaching took place under trees. We appreciate the role played by the Teba Development in the construction of the classes and appreciate the involvement of the school governing body and we are grateful that the District Department of Education will provide the necessary furniture to the new classes.”

TEBA Limited is a service organisation primarily responsible for the recruitment of mineworkers for the South African mining industry.
In addition, it carries out a vital role in ensuring the payment of various benefits (as well as savings) to workers and their families in rural areas of Southern Africa.
