Rand Mutual Assurance

The Rand Mutual Assurance Company Limited (RMA), known as the Rand Mutual, was founded in 1894 by mining companies on the Witwatersrand as a mutual insurance company to underwrite workers' compensation for mining industry employees injured in the course and scope of their environment. In fact, the Rand Mutual pioneered workers' compensation insurance in South Africa.

The Rand Mutual Assurance Company Limited is a registered agent of the Workmen's Compensation Commissioner. Services rendered by TEBA Limited to the Rand Mutual Assurance Company Limited are as follows:

Claims Activities

• Fatal Accidents: the completion of claim form and procurement of certificates/ statements/affidavits
• Completion of Disability Claim Forms
• Payment of Lump Sum Benefits (below 31% permanent disability)

• Monthly Pension/Allowance Payments
• Administrative Activities, i.e. payment to estates, death of beneficiary, etc
• Fingerprints: verification and scanning of new fingerprints for fraud prevention

Medical

• Spinal Cord Injury House Visits
• Fitting of prosthesis, hearing aids, etc
• Transportation of Spinal Cord Injury cases
